With over 27 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, Amanda recognizes the importance of each child’s whole development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical areas. Supporting children aged 0-6 is her life’s work and passion. It is in this age that our greatest development occurs, where our lifelong foundations of trust and connection are formed.
Amanda understands this development does not look the same for any two children and she enjoys adjusting daily activities to your child’s unique needs.
Amanda has held head teacher roles in infant, toddler, and pre-K classrooms and has overseen centers at the director level. She is enjoying supporting a small number of children from families in her Oak Park and surrounding community.
Amanda was born in the Bahamas and arrived in the US in the mid-90’s. She received her BA in Early Childhood Education from George Washington University in 1999.
Amanda maintains current First Aid, CPR, Food Safety, and Sanitation certifications in Illinois. She holds the Gateways Illinois Director Credential. The IDC is for professional administrators of ECE and school-age programs. It requires specific levels of training, education, experience teaching in an ECE or school-age program, and experience as a director or assistant director in an ECE or school-age program.
Ms. Amanda looks forward to working with you in support of your child, nurturing their individual development.
